The EEF Supporting Dependant - Tertiary Applicant: Brook Barry

Tuition provider: The University of Canterbury

Duration of EEF support: 2017 - 2021

Brooke has recently completed her Bachelor of Criminal Justice. Brooke has received excellent results throughout her three years of study. Topics covered included Criminal Law and Procedure, Forensic Science and Linguistics, Sentencing, Psychology, and Gang History. Brooke was also an executive representative of the official Criminal Justice group at the University of Canterbury, responsible for organising key social and educational events.

Brooke has recently secured a job with the Ministry of Social Development and is currently a Customer Service Representative, based in one of the Christchurch Call Centres. Brooke is extremely grateful for the funding she has received from the FB EEF and says the financial support she has received has given her the flexibility to purchase other study-related expenses such as textbooks, through having a large sum of her course-costs covered by the scholarship. The FB EEF also supported Brooke on her attending Camp America in Glen Spey, New York, where she was responsible for taking care of and interacting with the young children that attended camp during their summer of 2017. Brooke’s father Shane works for Firth Industries and he is certainly appreciative of the support that the FB EEF has given Brooke.
